Chemical stripping of aluminium bicycle rims

This work involved the controlled removal of liquid paint coating through a chemical stripping process, followed by washing, neutralisation/passivation and visual inspection of the surface. The goal was to ensure effective coating removal while preserving the metallic substrate and preparing the part for the next process stage.

Material: Aluminium  |  Coating type: Liquid paint (black)  |  Next stage: New coating application

Process applied

  • Initial assessment of the part and coating
  • Controlled chemical stripping with a system formulated for aluminium
  • Washing and residue removal
  • Neutralisation/passivation
  • Final surface inspection
