Chemical stripping of aluminium bicycle rims
This work involved the controlled removal of liquid paint coating through a chemical stripping process, followed by washing, neutralisation/passivation and visual inspection of the surface. The goal was to ensure effective coating removal while preserving the metallic substrate and preparing the part for the next process stage.
Material: Aluminium | Coating type: Liquid paint (black) | Next stage: New coating application
Process applied
- Initial assessment of the part and coating
- Controlled chemical stripping with a system formulated for aluminium
- Washing and residue removal
- Neutralisation/passivation
- Final surface inspection
